The Bryan Brothers finally were able to get onto the clay and after dropping the first set 4-6, they reached a groove and took the second set 6-2 and closed out the match tie-break 10-4.

In another example of the oddity of tennis scoring, the Bryan’s and Fyrstenberg/Matkowski both won 27 points in the first set, but the Bryan’s lost 4-6 as their opponents won most of their return points in one break of service which was all they needed to take the set from the Bryan Brothers.

Bob and Mike won 12 of 26 return points in the second set to break twice and take the set 6-2.

In the match tie-break, the Bryan’s served 6 first serves out of 7 service points and won all six while Fyrstenberg/Matkowski also served 6 first serves, but lost three of those points.  With one other 2nd serve mini break the Bryan’s finished off the match 10-4.
