Carly Gullickson Lone American To Win Her Way Into French Open Main Draw. 17 US Players Eliminated

18 Americans started the Roland Garros qualifying rounds and only Carly Gullickson advanced into the French Open main draw. Unfortunately, Gullickson had to eliminate fellow American Lauren Albanese 4&3 in the final qualifying round.
Amer Delic lost today in his final qualifying round to Franco Ferreiro 4&5.

Carly Gullickson advanced quickly today over Alexandra Panova 0&1.
Lauren Albanese also advanced showing her fitness level after a three set match yesterday, she defeated Lenka Wienerova today in a tight three set match 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Vania King was defeated by Nina Bratchikova 3-6, 6-3, 2-6.
Angela Haynes was defeated by Yaroslava Shvedova 1&2.

Haynes, Gullickson, King, Albanese Advance to 2nd Qualifying Round In Three Set Matches

Anglea Haynes and Carly Gullickson both came from a set down to advance to the second round of qualifying.  All the American winners required three sets and they all won the third set in convincing fashion.
Haynes defeated Zuzana Kucova 5-7, 7-6(4), 6-2.

Amer Delic defeated Filippo Volandri 7-5, 7-6(4) in today’s second round of qualifying at Roland Garros.
Ryan Sweeting, however, was defeated by Sergiy Stakhovsky 6-7(1), 5-7.
