Blake Defeates Davydenko In Three & Loses to Montanes in Final; Butorac/Lipsky take Doubles Title

James Blake came from behind against Davydenko finishing their semifinal match today after it was called on account of darkness yesterday. Blake reached the clay court final with his impressive victory over Davydenko 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 6-3, but then had to play the final later in the day.

Blake nearly pulled off the championship, but lost in the final to Montanes 7-5, 6-7(6), 6-0. Unlucky to have to play both match same day while Montanes was fully rested. While Blake won 7 of 9 second serve points in the first set, his third set 2nd serve percentage dropped to 24%.

Eric Butorac and Scott Lipsky won the doubles championship by defeating Damm/Lindstedt 3&2.

Raquel Kops-Jones & Abigail Spears Win Doubles Title In Estoril

Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears defeated Fichman & Marosi 2-6, 6-3, 10-5 in the Estoril Open Doubles Championship Final.

Fichman/Marosi had a higher 1st serve percentage, but won only 29% of their 2nd serve points.

Kops-Jones and Spears leave Portugal with 8,228 Euros and 280 WTA ranking points.

Blake To Battle Davydenko In Estoril Semis; Butorac/Lipsky & Kops-Jones/Spears Into Estoril Doubles Finals

James Blake defeated Serra 4&1 and will play Davydenko who defeated Mardy Fish 4&3. The winner will meet the winner of the Montanes/Capdeville Semifinal.

Eric Butorac & Scott Lipsky advanced to the doubles final by defeating Cermak/Mertinak 3&3. Butorac and Lipsky will meet #4 seeds Damm/Lindstedt in the final.

#3 seeds Raquel Kops-Jones & Abigal Spears are a rising doubles force in American Doubles and have advanced to the finals with an impressive victory over Coin & Pelletier.

Kops-Jones/Spears will meet Fichman/Marosi in the Estoril Final.
