Mardy Fish was broken in the first set after two costly cross court net approaches which elevated Djokovic, deflated Fish and lead to the first service break. The match went south from there as Djokovic found his groove as Fish went down 4, 4 & 4.
Serena Williams defeated Roberta Vinci 6-3, 6-4.
US Doubles:
Robert Kendrick & Sam Querrey were elimated by the number two seed, Nestor/Zimonjic 6-3, 3-6, 4-6, 4-6
Bob & Mike Bryan defeated Brunstrom/Rojer 0, 2 & 4
Travis Parrott (w/Polasek) advanced over Cuevas/Mayer after a 2 day delay as Parrott & company pulled out the fourth set 6-7(4), 7-6(4), 6-3, 7-6(3)
James Cerretani (w/Hanescu) was eliminated by Damm/Lindstedt 3-6, 3-6, 7-6(12), 5-7
Eric Butorac & Scott Lipsky were also eliminated by Pavel/Tecau 4-6, 7-6(9), 6-3, 4-6, 13-15
