Haynes, Gullickson, King, Albanese Advance to 2nd Qualifying Round In Three Set Matches

Anglea Haynes and Carly Gullickson both came from a set down to advance to the second round of qualifying.  All the American winners required three sets and they all won the third set in convincing fashion.

Haynes defeated Zuzana Kucova 5-7, 7-6(4), 6-2.

Gullickson defeated Violette Huck 6-7(7), 7-6(6), 6-1.

Vania King advanced to the second round 7-5, 3-6, 6-1.

Lauren Albanese also advanced over Ksenia Palkina 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.

Shenay Perry was eliminated by Yaroslava Shvedova 4&4.

Abigail Spears was defeated by Sandra Zahlavova 5&5.

Julie Ditty also went done in first round qualifying to Lenka Wienerova 5-7, 2-6.

Melanie Oudin, the #14 seed, was surprisingly no contest for Zuzana Ondraskova losing 0&1.

Madison Brengle was eliminated by Olga Savchuk 6-7(4), 3-6.
